Czech Republic’s numbers are declining. Most likely because the SARS-CoV-2 virus has almost effectively burned through the whole country. At least, that’s the conclusion of leading epidemiologists here…it’s simply running out of people to infect.

Czech Republic had its first surge in fall, the second after-Christmas, and then the third in mid-late February. As you have pointed out over the past few days, the numbers are on a decline — but let’s wait to see if there is an after-Easter surge. The questions are how long immunity lasts after recovery and whether the new variants will unleash a new wave of illness. Your third wave may have been due to the UK variant and maybe that is dying out.
