I read it, and I’m familiar with the story from before. How are you not trying to minimize it? Number of dead estimated at 22k. Not all of them officers, sure. Not all of them killed in the same forest, sure. But the events are generally refered to as the Katyn massacre.
In historical terms, those are minor pedantic issues compared to simply stating that the number wasn’t 22k but only 4k, without providing further nuance.

Those are not pedantic issues at all, when someone blathers about 22k officers shot in the Katyn forest, it shows they didn’t bother to get the very basics right.
