I wish ancestry.com were cheaper. Not exactly the best place on a student budget and unfortunately my parents don’t seem as interested as I am in finding some stuff out. My grandfather’s cousin did find some interesting stuff out in her resarch though when my grandfather was a kid, he had a different surname than the one that he legally used when he married my grandmother and when my mom and her brother were coming of age. Weird thing is the social security death index works on some of my relatives but not all of them. Like I can find my deceased grandparents as well deceased uncles and such but it’s hard for me to find others like their parents who with one exception died after SSN’s were issued.
