California had some of the longest sustain notes going at the time. I always liked his slightly fuzz tone on them too.

While were speaking of, umm, appropriations - Randy’s guitar work in the song ‘Aren’t You Glad’ presages a lot of stuff that Robert Fripp used in King Crimson.
