Mrs. Fish is having the family Christmas at our house this year. I’m not quite certain what possessed her to do this; she has 6 elder siblings, and between them they have something like 24 children. I’m contemplating just hiding in the basement with my cat and a bottle of Everclear.

We’re doing the traditional Christmas Eve dinner here-it’s a small family, at least those on this coast, but by corralling a couple neighbors and my son-in-law’s parents we should have 12 to 14 people here. Smaller group at my daughter’s house on Christmas for the gift exchange. All very laid back and civilized.
