We know Mitch McConnell’s priorities…

McConnell and pals are just throwing red meat to the GOP base in anticipation of the Georgia run-offs. If it looked to the base that they were abandoning Trump, there’s a good possibility they may decide to stay home on that election day and thus hand over control of the Senate to the Democrats. And damn tootin’ that’s the last thing McConnell wants to see happen.

Like that one high-ranking GOP source went on to say about why they’re humoring Trump….”It’s not like he’s plotting how to prevent Joe Biden from taking power on Jan. 20. He’s tweeting about filing some lawsuits, those lawsuits will fail, then he’ll tweet some more about how the election was stolen, and then he’ll leave.”

Privately, they know it’s over for Trump - but they need to keep the GOP base enraged for the next few weeks at least and they’re keeping an eye on 2024 as well.
