Classic— and predictable— case of Republican misdirection. I knew someone would make this claim.
The perjury only came about as the result of an extended witch-hunt digging into everything possible on Clinton — real estate deals, phony sexual harassment charges, everything.

They finally hit paydirt when they found some bint willing to tape a girl who’d given the Clenis a blowjob.

And now the claim is all “It’s the perjury! the perjury!” Bullshit. Lying about a blowjob? A lot of people have done that.

BTW, my point still stands about Iran-Contra and Watergate. You can’t pretend that Dems always get a pass and Repubs never do.

Real-estate deals? Are you referring to Whitewater? Yeah that was nothing more than a witchhunt. That’s why a sitting governor was convicted and removed from office.

Ultimately the Clintons were never charged, but 14 other persons were convicted of more than 40 crimes, including Bill Clinton’s successor as Governor, who was removed from office.

* Chris Wade: Whitewater real estate broker (multiple loan fraud) Bill Clinton pardoned.

And it wasn’t just some dumb broad who was caught on tape. Bill Clinton was. He told Monica to lie under oath. Not only that, he said he would help her. He would tell her what to say.

Clinton didn’t lie for any cause. He perjured himself and suborned purjury to save his ass. He put this country and the Presidency through hell to try and save his own ass. Over something pretty petty. How low can you get. And the thing is, he didn’t have to. If he admitted the truth when it first surfaced, nothing would have happened. Nothing happened to Gavin Newsom. Clinton has nobody to blame but himself.

Oh, and the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy meme was born on the Today Show when Hillary blamed all the Lewinsky talk on the Republicans. And the press let her keep citing the VRWC and never shoved it back in her face. All they had to do was remind her of the first time she used it. It would have had a very short life.
