This. It chokes me up when I look at how beautiful it all is. We took it from the Native Americans, but at least some of our leaders had the good sense to preserve & protect what can never be replaced. It makes me spitting mad when someone claim it belongs exclusively to his/her group, or when they just want to profit from it finacially.

Hell, if we’d stuck with that mentality…. left to their own devices people will do shit like hunt species to extinction, as we almost did with our bison.

I got my tough lesson about how certain people can be just outright pigs with public lands.

I used to go fishing a lot. I loved the solitude and a buddy and I used to make our outings more about discussing philosophy and religion, etc. rather than fishing.

Anyway…a lot of fishing enthusiasts consider themselves to be nature conservatives and outdoorsmen.

How hard is it for you to pick up your bait containers and the beer and soda cans and the rest of the damn trash you left out in a nice public area around an Ohio reservoir, stream, creek, etc. You carried it in…it weighs less taking it out. Fucking pigs.

And I’ll let you guess what type of individuals were the most common nature abusers.
