I truly dread going to Guitar Center, and it’s the stop of absolute last resort for me. I’ve bought PA gear there, but that’s about it. Haven’t bought a guitar from them in probably 10 years.

Besides, I’d rather have used gear than new nowadays, and there are way better places to buy used gear than GC.

But you have the luxury of being around a major metropolitan area. Enough money flowing to keep the small shops up.
I would never buy a used guitar from GC.
I got deals on pedals. Never saw a decent price on a used amp there.
Just for shits and giggles I took my Fender 60 watt Super Sonic amp to the Harrisburg Pa location 5-6 years ago. Said I wanted to know how much they would give me for it. It’s mint. With a cover.
I walked it into the store and the manager looked at it and said he would be right back.
I’m guessing he looked at ebay or corporate criteria…..
Came back out and told me I could get $350 for it.
I told him that was a great price. If I was a junkie and the amp was hot.
I would never buy a new Gibson.
