The issue again is that the more the virus spreads, the more likely it is to evolve into a new strain that might not be as “benevolent” as Omicron.

We’ll hope that Omicron is the benign yet highly contagious version that stamps out all other varieties of the virus, and only evolves towards further mildness, because the red states will only adopt policies to promote, and not suppress, its spread.
