I may be totally wrong on this, but then Russia has been lying about COVID since Day 1 — I am skeptical about the steep decline in cases there since the invasion started. Certainly possible — but a lot of Europe has shown increases over the past few weeks apparently due to BA.2

They may have let it infect a very high percentage of their population by now, which could cause a real drop, but they’re probably lying.
