Well, speaking as a genealogist who has spent time looking over censuses (censii?) from many different years, it isn’t entirely accurate, either.
It’s self-reported, so it says what the individual told the census worker.
I had one ancestor who, bless her soul, aged 3 years between censii.
Plus, it depends on whether the census worker could spell correctly and if they wrote down the information accurately.
