I can imagine how this Museum of the Bible will look to small children, and the conclusions they are likely to draw from it. I remember being in Sunday school when I was just 4 or 5 and hearing the various Bible, mostly New Testament, stories. I was under the distinct impression that the events described were happening in heaven and in the present day. I thought each week’s lesson was kind of an update on the intervening week’s events in the celestial domain. I first learned about numbers in kindergarten, when I was 5, and took to the concept immediately. It didn’t take me long to realize that the Bible stories were about the distant past in this same world. The illustrations in our books had contributed to the misconception, since they did not resemble any world with which I was familiar.
