Precisely why I think education needs to be given higher value as well as the necessary safety nets and systems to protect our citizens (and immigrants to our society.)

Teaching is the most important non-parent job. We should spend more on salaries and on education in general. And my one requirement when I personally make all education paid by taxes is that trade schools will be required to teach courses on government and economics.
