I have worked with engineers who I eventually diagnosed with some form of Munchausen syndrome. It seemed automation or equipment was always broke down in their areas and they were always fixing it. Then they got to complain about how crappy the equipment was and how they had to patch it all together. Other people would work the same area on other shifts and it would run fine for them.

That is fascinating. At least they’re not killing people like the firefighter/arsonists and nurses who cause patients to code so they can save them.
