I’m just horrified after watching that show.

What these people did to children is flat out evil.

And it was presided over by a self-hating gay man, who undoubtedly was getting his own rocks off, while torturing “effeminate” children.

If anyone ever asks why I’m so utterly disgusted with the right wing, this story is your answer. Evil.

What truly frightens and disgusts me about this is thinking back to my childhood. Every time I hear what he was doing described, I remember doing all of those things myself. I played with barbie dolls, I played dress up (even with girl’s clothing a few times!) and all sorts of “effeminate” things. Admittedly, I liked dinosaurs and playing with toy guns and spaceships and stuff like that, but the girly stuff was there.

Now? I’m one of the straightest straight guys I know. I like trucks, playing in the mountains (hiking, skiing, climbing), lifting weights, high voltage electricity, rock and roll and any number of guy things. I’m married (to a woman) and have never been interested in guys.

So, the thing that truly horrifies me is the pointlessness of it. The possibility that, even in their twisted, evil world view, there might have been nothing to fix (there was nothing to fix anyway, just to be clear). They didn’t even know how to identify what they were trying to eradicate. They had nothing beyond bigotry and violence.
