This one is for the rest of you, a little bit of Corelli:

nice!
corelli had a much more prominent reputation in his own day, and when the young j s bach went to hear him in the early 1700s, you have keep in mind, the italians still dominated music as the age of the great german composers had yet to dawn
corelli is also not that easy to play well, not because of any technical difficulty of the music but rather because the performer must bring something to it for it to be fully recognized. a virtuoso himself, corelli’s compositions are merely platforms for the performer to take hold of and transform from merely excellent composistions into something truely marvellous. chiara banchini is my favorite modern performer of corelli - not only does she play with an unmistakeable fiery fire, but she follows baroque performance practice and writes her own ornaments
