Then I dispute the dictionary definition. To call a criminal who pulls a gun on a police officer and gets shot for having done so a ‘victim’ makes it seem like he was the wronged party, as opposed to the cop he tried to shoot.

And that’s all I’ve got to say about that.

If you want to be pedantic, there was no trial.

He’s innocent until proven guilty.

Of course, there won’t be a trial, for either him or the cop.
