Swear to fucking Christ, if you told the Founding Fathers that their successors were openly fighting the prevention of diseases that often wiped out their kids, they’d beat Ron Paul and RFK, Jr. to death with George Washington’s teeth.

They were happy to inoculate (N.B. not “vaccinate”) against smallpox because a 5% chance of dying from the inoculation was enormously preferable to the 1 in 3 chance of dying of smallpox….
