Actually, we all pay. A large part of my objection was from Sen. Warren’s terminology: Raising the minimum wage isn’t ‘giving people a raise’. It’s forcing businesses to raise wages, without compensating by lower taxes or reducing regulation. When done in an across the board manner (as it normally has to be done) it causes job losses.

And the $15/hr minimum some places are putting into effect really scares me. It threatens commissioned salespeople like myself with either being priced out of jobs or having our commission structure gutted to make room for the higher wages. that makes employers less forgiving of a slow month since they still have to pay you the same thing.

I fear Sen. Warren’s ideas will do me harm. Those taking other positions are invited to reply. I’ll read the replies when I return. BBL
