The state supreme court upheld the sheriff of Lancaster County’s challenge to the medical marijuana amendment for the upcoming election.

The supreme court ruled the amendment proposal violated the state constitution, in that a referendum may only deal with one subject.

The court ruled that a) legalising marijuana, b) allowing those who could legally use it to grow it, and c) legally being able to transport small quantities for personal use constituted three different purposes.
