I’m done with the war of the ties. I usually impose my will on The Kid about wearing a tie to church but, really. It’s too hot. I don’t think God cares if he doesn’t wear a tie to church. What would we do if there weren’t any ties? What if they were never invented? We wouldn’t even miss them.

Back in “our day”, the ‘rents forced us to wear all kinds of things. My mother made me wear a hairpiece (back in the 60s when wigs were popular) that absolutely freaked me out. Every picture they took of me with that thing, I looked miserable.

As long has The Kid looks presentable, sports shirt or even a button down shirt with slacks, I’m sure he’ll be fine.
