Wikipedia lists it as “a bridging peroxide group in ascaridole.” Article is on organic peroxides. The Arkema Plant apparently produces lots of liquid organic peroxides as precursors for various PVC, epoxy and other polymers. Apparently they’re hellaciously reactive.
Peroxides in high concentrations are no joke. Oxygen-oxygen bonds, outside of O2 gas, are just asking to be “liberated”.
