If the White House can’t take some criticism from Fox News how is the White House going to handle serious criticism from Russia, China, the Arab World, Latin America? This makes the Obama Administration look weak and does not bode well for his foreign policy objectives (it is important to remember Khrushchev based part of his decision to place missiles in Cuba on his perception that JFK was weak and conversely Brezhnev and his successors’ views of Reagan’s strength was based partly on Reagan’s handling of the PATCO strike). There is no upside for the White House to engage in this type of carping.
