re: #193 keithgabryelski

here is his theory:

the n-word is an offensive word no matter who uses it.

sure.

but you miss the point if you leave it at that. the n-word is an offensive word if used by anyone — offensive like the f-word, it is an unacceptable word if used by a white person.

is that a double standard? why YES, yes it is. deal with it. we have plenty of double standards in this world, because things are different if you are black or white, man or woman, and child or adult.

get the hell over it.

and, by the way, don’t think no one noticed you saying “black is black, white is white — what relationship can the darkness have with light?” shall i return that dog whistle you putz?

i’m surprised you didn’t complete your sentence by using the word niggardly with a smirk on your face “oh, it just means stingy — swear that’s how i meant it — and those damn n-words are preventing me from using the english language”.

welcome to racism — you are the face of it.

Late to this: I agree with you; there are standards that apply differently to different people because that is how social conventions have evolved, and how they are even if we could imagine a world where they were different.

It is however a pity that ignorance of language causes words to be disallowed just because they have a certain similarity to another with a completely different meaning and origin, like niggardly.
