re: #191 Wendell Zurkowitz ((slave to the waffle light))
I am assuming that “B’shaert” is Yiddish, and related to the German bescheuert for “daft”.
B’shert באַשערט refers to a soulmate but is also translated as destiny.
Beresheet means in the beginning.
There’s a similar root ברא - created/creating. I’m a bit rusty on this, but I seem to recall that when G-d created the universe the soul was split in two, and it’s up to each one of us to find completion, hence the need for a soulmate who can help one become whole.
