Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. Just finished reading a pretty good book that touches on climate change and one of the biggest concerns facing people in the coming century - the ability to get potable water. It goes through the history of man’s effort to tame water - using it for irrigation, transportation, sanitation, and its exploitation and pollution and how we’re now beginning to understand the limits of water accessibility and how this can and will affect the coming century as water resources become more difficult to access.

Climate change will affect rainfall patterns, which affects stream and river flows, and the potential results could be catastrophic. Underground aquifers are being depleted at alarming rates, and unless significant steps are taken to reduce and reuse water, droughts and famines will become more widespread.
