Maybe that’s how Al Jazeera gets on the air in the US. Dissolve Current TV’s programming, and replace it with Al Jazeera programming.

I don’t know what’s going on but I doubt that AJ wants Current TV’s market but their infrastructure. AJ isn’t “lefty” and its AJ English format isn’t even close to Current TV’s format. They said they want to compete with CNN.

That’s exactly what AJ’s doing; they’re buying Current TV for its carriage agreements and infrastructure, while the programming gets the shredder.
