Use to be, anyone who said anything so out of touch with reality would be called nuts e.g. “He’s nuts!” or “She’s nuts!” Now, the same people who would previously be avoided (for being nuts) have their own television shows where they announce these little gems (that qualify them for being nuts) as though they are fact and/or relevant.
