Because if I’m some sort of nefarious rogue agent with remote access to the system, I’m going to go through the trouble of pushing keystrokes in real time, delete-by-delete, rather than just corrupting the file or dumping a nasty virus on the machine, either of which would be:

* far harder to trace
* far harder to document, and
* out-and-out easier

How fucking stupid and credulous am I supposed to be, anyway?
