Looking at the Louisiana map… Trump did very well in the parishes along the Mississippi river… just like he did in Arkansas.

Why?

Well, my speculation is this: these are counties with considerably high African American demographics, which are mostly Democrats, and the divide between the parties in these areas are thus driven by Republicans=White, Democrats=Black dynamics.

So the politics of the party becomes very skin-color influenced.
