How fitting that the party that swears all the time that it believes in personal responsibility has as its nominee a man whose campaign seems built around the idea that America has no responsibilities whatsoever. It can spend how it likes and the debt-holders are the ones who should be happy just to get any money from us. We can stomp around the globe and should expect love for it. And now we can pollute the planet as we like and there is no reason to believe that doing so will have negative consequences.
