Really just a thought, “boy, if Putin wanted an out to this shitshow, that would be one way to do it.” Of course, he’s going to just keep doubling down on a losing position.

I was sort of hoping, but not really expecting, that Putin might announce they lost the referendum, giving him an excuse to withdraw from Ukraine and end the war. Would’ve been nice.
