Years ago, there was a friend of my husband’s family who was really into conspiracy theories. I got a kick out of him because I had never ever met someone like him. I remember one Thanksgiving where he was going on about how Clinton was going to declare martial law so he could stay in office past his two terms. I bet him $100. Unfortunately, I didn’t see him again to collect because grandma moved to another state.

It used to be that there weren’t many of these people out there, but now it seems to be quite a huge chunk. Makes me wonder about the intelligence of the general public.
