I can dig those cars that came out after the war and before things shook out in the early-mid 50s. Eisenhower probably had a hand in undermining the independent manufacturers during his term by appointing GM’s Charlie Wilson who unsurprisingly favored GM in defense contracts whilst the independents were struggling.

I used to drive a ‘51 Hudson Hornet. My dad bought it new, and I got to drive it almost 20 years later during high school.
