McCain and Palin campaign did all that too.
I think people really get it twisted now because that one clip of McCain defending Obama being used so much around his death.

All that anti-American, foreigner, maybe Muslim shit was part of the talking points for surrogates. I remember the hilarity of pointing out to people that McCain was actually born in Panama.
