I saw Joan in a park in Coconut Grove, Miami back in the 80s. These guys were getting really grabby with this girl to the point where she couldn’t get away from them. They tried lifting in the air and were pulling at her clothes. Joan, who of course could see the whole thing from the stage, just stopped playing and screamed out something like, “Hey! Put her down. If I see any more of that shit, I’m walking off the stage!” And she waited until the girl collected herself. She even asked her if she was ok before the band started again. It was awesome! Joan’s my girl.

Joan rocks. I saw her too, and got to meet her after the show when she signed autographs. She was super nice, and said she liked my name. *feeling cool*
