re: #196 Spare O’Lake

1. How do you prove that the lung cancer was caused by the tobacco?
2. What if the person doesn’t have money to pay for their treatment?

1. smokers who get lung cancer = presumed causation. don’t like it? quit smoking!!

2. Liquidate what they have. As it stands now, we’re picking up the whole tab, right? Might as well offset it with whatever assets the person has.

i haven’t really thought this through much, as i’m sure you can tell, but i already like it more than making smoking illegal.

i’m not a huge cigar fan but i know plenty of people who enjoy them responsibly. and don’t tell me you can parse those out…
