Irene looks to be losing strength as it makes it’s way towards the coast, so we’re hopeful here that what we’ll just get is a rerun of Isabel, i.e. a lot of downed power lines, some homes damaged/demolished, and that’s it.

Yeah, I know it’s all rather wishful thinking, but considering that yesterday, they were predicting 115+mph winds upon landfall, it’s not so impossible today.
