My favorite Halloween costumes have all been made from cardboard boxes. One year I was a pay phone. (You youngsters can google that.) The parts came from a vandalized pay phone (I didn’t do it, I swear!) and I attached them to a box I wore with my head sticking out the top. I would make a ringing noise, answer it, and say, “It’s for you” and hand it to whoever was near, and they took it from there. Some people were really good at improvising one side of a conversation.

This was before anyone had a cell phone. I wonder how it would work now.

The most twisted costume I ever saw was in the early 80s, someone dressed up as a bottle of Tylenol.
