I’m hoping the science starts to keep the “cleanup upon removal” promises, opening some credibility to negotiate with the locals. And if the law says due process was violated, well a re do of the process would be in order. Science need not be an “eminent domain” bad neighbor.

One quibble - it’s not “Science” failing to clean up after itself. It’s the institution - university or whatever - under whose name the research is done. Lord knows they collect enough in Overhead on the grants.
