It’s moments like this I’m sad the Queen’s political views are all “Decline to State”.

I really don’t get the point of having a monarch if they can’t occasionally fuck some dudes up. I felt this way after Fukushima too, that maybe shit would’ve gotten under control a little faster if the Emperor just grabbed his sword and started cutting on the TEPCO Board of Directors, or if he told all the old dudes in Japan to march with him there and sacrifice themselves as an expendable labor source, or just done something, anything. This is probably just me being American but these national paralyses are the most frustrating shit shows to witness and just once I’d like to see one of these pampered fucks act in a way that truly justifies their ridiculously elevated status.

Because this modern brand of royalty as barely approachable and basically totally useless figurehead is something I just can’t wrap my head around.
