re: #197 electrotek

If you were at Coachella 2013 on the first weekend like I was when The Stone Roses were headlining their first US show since 1995, you would understand where he is coming from. I went that year specifically for The Stone Roses AND Blur (which was also their first US show since 2003 at that time). There was already a small crowd for Blur on the Main Stage so when The Stone Roses closed Friday night at that same stage, the crowd got even smaller. It was ridiculous because this is an act that was the epitome of Madchester and its influence is ENORMOUS in rock and electronic music (Madchester anyone?). I was fortunate to witness such a spectacle so I will always forever treasure that, but a shame that the typical Coachella demographic will never experience it again.

Coachella is slowly pandering to the bottom-feeding douche fratbro Trump-loving types with their horrible taste in music (consisting of trashy EDM). Expect Coachella to stray further from its roots in order to maintain its commercial viability and immense stature in the music scene, so no Kate Bush or even a Talking Heads reunion if that ever happens.

Sad.
