They can try, but once the genie is out of the bottle, it’s hard to convince him to get back inside. I just read an article about teacher in the UK who came out as gay to his primary school class, and one 9-year-old girl wrote him a letter saying it was all OK. It seems most of his class judged him by his abilities as a teacher and not by his sexual preference, and wanted to know if he had a boyfriend, etc.

The “modern” GOP may want to push gays, minorities and women back to their 1950s non-entity-ness, but it ain’t gonna work. Society moves on and old farts better get out of the way or be trampled.
