Titanic is more remarkable for the way Cameron made the setting seem so “real” than the plot itself. Much like he did with Avatar, aka “Dances with Smurfs,” he managed to make a blockbuster film through cinematic marvels than actual storytelling. Cut away the CGI and practical effects and Titanic would have had all the depth of a Made-For-TV movie.
