The Kennedys aren’t known for actually taking care of their dogs/pets. Ethel had poodles that left droppings on the staircases at Hickory Hill, so when you came downstairs in the morning, you had to be careful. She also had these enormous black dogs that liked to leave steaming piles in the guest bathroom on the ground floor. When I was the governess there, I had no clue who was actually in charge of taking the poor things outside.

Like their owners, the dogs were just leaving crap all over the place.
