I think it would be tragic for any and all music with a religious bent to be removed from the schools. There are just so many beautiful and important pieces of music that kids would never get the pleasure to learn and perform.

But it’s a completely different issue between art and science. Art being subjective, and science being objective, you just can’t compare.

Exactly. Without Ode to Joy, I don’t know how many children would have stuck by their instruments. Though, the hymn came later than Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
