Taxes will have to be raised. Medical costs will have to be dealt with; that’s one of the largest costs for both private and public. This will take actual, serious approaches, not just grandstanding based on fantasy.

Exactly. Everything must be on the table, and that includes new/higher taxes, in addition to the cuts to entitlement programs and defense spending. Also on the table should be serious looks into whether our fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan continues to be worthwhile or should be brought to an end and those units there returned stateside.
