From when til 2009? I was a kid during Vietnam, but I am pretty sure we saw pictures of those coffins coming home. I don’t think that is right, there were pics of the coffins shown on TV and in the papers.

I also remember the nightly news with pictures of those killed pretty regularly. Those photos were also in the newspapers.

Maybe someone can help me out here but I believe the coffins and such being showed during Vietnam played a role in why many people grew opposed to that war. They saw the cost of that war. It definitely wasn’t something new that came along when Obama became president.
