Heh. I know some guys who get all nostalgic for the PDP-8. I can’t get that way about anything more primitive than a PDP-1/45 - I need semi-conductor ram not core, floating point math is very handy & it can *just* run Unix Version 7.
My wife used to have a PDP-8 and a PDP-11 when we lived in Oklahoma (since she worked in the past for Digital). They both functioned fine (though I don’t remember the bootstrap sequence for them any more, I’ll bet she still does).
It’s amazing how much you can sell those for.
